Julia Deans x Louis Baker

~Exclusive Double Bill~

Join guitar-brandishing chanteuse Juia Deans and soulful singer-songwriter Louis Baker for a unique and intimate night of songs and mesmerising performances.

This is the first time both artists have appeared on the same bill and it will be a night you won’t want to miss.

~Julia Deans~

Julia Deans has offered light and shade to a variety of musical endeavours over the years. From fronting legendary Kiwi band Fur Patrol, co-conspirator with renowned supergroup The Adults, delving into Joni Mitchell’s songbook for “Both Sides Now” and tackling Shakespeare’s works for “Play On”; Julia has never shied from adding new strings to her bow.

But it is in her own songs that Deans’ abilities come to the fore. A combination of sharp lyrics, a conscious pop sound and superior vocal talent set her apart. In concert, she is as warm as she is honest, proving herself a larrikin storyteller as well as a mesmerising performer.

~Louis Baker~

Independent soulful singer songwriter and New Zealander, Louis Baker is inarguably one of the most compelling voices to emerge in recent years from New Zealand’s fertile musical landscape. Crafting his work with a deep artistic integrity, Louis has gathered a loyal following that spans the world over. Everyone from India Arie - “Louis Baker, you sing my soul,” to the international music community (BBC 6 Music, Clash Magazine, The Line of Best Fit, Earmilk) who have shown love for what he is.
