FIERCELY HOPEFUL: Anis Mojgani

A two-time US National Poetry Slam Champion and winner of the International World Cup Poetry Slam, Anis Mojgani will move you with poems that have been described as 'fiercely hopeful word arias' and make you wonder at his verbal dexterity and literary skill. And, as WORD Christchurch's literary director found when she saw Anis performing in Portland a few years ago, his delivery will have you on the edge of your seat. She vowed to get him in front of New Zealand audiences one day, and that day has come. He is joined in conversation by Grace Taylor, one-time Auckland Writers Festival Poetry Idol champ and author of 'Afakasi Speaks'.
