Futuna Chapel will host a series of nine Sunday afternoon concerts from 10 March to 12 May 2019

The John Scott-designed chapel is regarded as a brilliant essay in geometry and coloured light and its design also lends itself to producing special acoustic qualities.

An eclectic and stellar line-up of performers from the Wellington region will reflect and reverberate against the cool stones and brightly coloured windows of Futuna Chapel.

Wellington Wind is a wind quintet of players from Orchestra Wellington and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. The group consists of flute player Karen Batten, oboist Merran Cooke, clarinettist Mark Cookson, bassoonist David Angus and horn player Shadley van Wyk.

Wellington Wind will present an entertaining, family-friendly programme including tangos, Teddy Bear's Picnic, the Entertainer and arrangements of well known classics such as tunes from Carmen.The players will also speak to the audience and introduce their instruments.
